Savills IM acquires DSV’s global HQ and logistics assets
The capital was all sourced in Asia with participation from private banks, family offices and institutional investors. The Cordea Savills team will acquire office assets in Tokyo through their various, long standing relationships in the market. Tokyo is seeing unprecedented interest from international investors as the result of Abenomics and the upcoming Tokyo Olympics, both of which seem to be having a positive effect on real estate pricing. This particular investment approach is a much sought after strategy in Japan but access to it is generally limited due to the insular nature of the market. With a healthy pipeline of projects, we see this as an ideal platform to enter the Japan market and achieve our targeted risk-adjusted returns. Receiving their endorsement for the Fund is extremely satisfying and we look forward to a fruitful working partnership.

The business will be combined with Cordea Savills, which is Savills' existing investment management operation. Following the transaction, the combined business will be re-branded Savills Investment Management. SEBAM is based in Frankfurt and Singapore with staff, and has about 10 billion euros of real estate assets under management AUM globally, within a variety of fund structures. As at Dec 31, , about 40 per cent of this AUM, or four billion euros, represented institutional funds, with the balance of about six billion euros being assets of a number of German open-ended funds, which are in the process of formal liquidation in accordance with the regulatory process governed by the German regulatory body BaFin.
